Adverse Blood Transfusion Events Rate

Whilst stringent analysis of blood group etc are undertaken for all patients having a blood transfusion during their admission, there is always a slight risk of a reaction.

The graph below shows the rate of patients that have had an adverse blood transfusion event (ie severe symptoms due to late detection). Mulgrave Private Hospital’s rate is much lower than the industry benchmark, in that no adverse events have occurred as a result of blood transfusion in the reported period
