Mr William Teoh is a specialist colorectal surgeon.  He graduated from Aberdeen University, United Kingdom in 1992.

He started his surgical training at The Austin Hospital in 1993 and was subsequently awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004.  After that, he further sub-specialised in colorectal surgery by training under the auspices of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia & New Zealand (CSSANZ).

Areas of special interest include:

  • Colorectal cancer
  • Diverticular disease
  • Colorectal bleeding
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Benign anorectal conditions – haemorrhoids, abscess, fistula, fissure
  • Functional bowel conditions – faecal incontinence, anal sphincter injuries, obstructed defaecation, rectal prolapse, rectocoele

Aside from performing a wide variety of traditional open surgical procedures, Mr Teoh also specialises in laparoscopic bowel surgery.
He also performs colonoscopies and has an interest in difficult polypectomies and colonic stenting for advanced malignancy.

Mr Teoh is also involved in the multidisciplinary management of obstetric sphincter injuries and performs endoanal ultrasound and anorectal manometry in the assessment of women with third and fourth-degree tears.

Mr Teoh is married and has three children.
