Opportunity knocks for local secondary school students

Today Mulgrave Private welcomed a group of year nine students from local high school Carwatha College, to show them a cross section of the variety of career pathways available across the healthcare industry.

An intimate group of year nine students from the local College spent the morning learning about the broad range of job pathways available in the healthcare industry, participating in a range of activities guided by Mulgrave Private Hospital Clinical Educator Laura Brindley and Business Development Manager Kylie Christmas.

The morning consisted of:

  • Presentations and a Guided Tour of the Hospital by Clinical Educator Laura Brindley and Business Development Manager Kylie Christmas
  • Morning Tea
  • "What's in the bag" quiz
  • CPR overview
  • Blood pressure testing
  • Bed making race and competition
  • Quiz and Q&A session

We thoroughly enjoyed having these students, opportunity knocks is a fantastic initiative that opens up the minds of secondary students to the world of possibilities that are available to them in their future career pathways.

Mulgrave Private Hospital is passionate about educating and supporting our future generations and offers a range of work experience options to students who may want to learn more about what its like to work here.
