Mr Lim attended Caulfield Grammar School where he was a recipient of the Monash Prize and was a CGS Scholar.  He graduated with Honours from Monash University and was awarded the Nairn Medal in Pathology. He subsequently completed General Surgical training at Monash Health and developed a keen interest in Colorectal Surgery, co-authoring a surgical textbook chapter with Professor Bruce Waxman.
Mr Lim obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010 and subsequently undertook a Colorectal Research Fellowship at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, focussing on Sacral Nerve Stimulation for Faecal Incontinence and 3D Endoanal Ultrasound.
He undertook a further two years of advanced post-fellowship training with the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) in high-volume colorectal units at Westmead Hospital (NSW) and Box Hill Hospital (VIC) – specialising in laparoscopic colorectal surgery for colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease and rectal prolapse. Mr Lim performs 3D endoanal/endorectal ultrasound, anal manometry, colonoscopy and has experience in a spectrum of common to complex anorectal procedures such as anal sphincter repair and perineal reconstruction. He was also involved in Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) animal research at Westmead Hospital and currently holds an Adjunct Lecturer appointment at Monash University.
