Dr. Yuan Cheng is a general and bariatric surgeon with both public and private appointments. Yuan’s special area of interest lies in bariatric (obesity) surgery.

Yuan obtained his fellowship as a General Surgeon in 2015. He was the inaugural fellow of Bariatric Surgery at Box Hill Hospital. He completed overseas fellowship training in Belgium with Dr B. Dillemans with special focus in Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and complex revision bariatric surgeries.

Yuan was appointed as a general and bariatric surgeon at Box Hill Hospital since 2016. For private patients, Yuan consults from East Melbourne and Box Hill. Telehealth consultations are also available upon request.

Yuan is passionate about helping patients achieve their weight loss goals and improve their overall health. He has performed over 500 bariatric procedures (by Jan 2022) and is proud with the results and the safety record.
