Mr John Gribbin

John Gribbin graduated from Monash University in 1984 and spent his early residency years at Prince Henry Hospital. He gained access to surgical training in 1990 passing his Fellowship exam in 1993 and was granted Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 1994. In 1993 he worked at the Royal Victorian Infirmary in Newcastle Upon Tyne and the Carlisle Infirmary. After his fellowship, he gained additional training at Monash Medical Centre, the Royal Prince Alfred, and Concord Hospitals in Sydney.

John now works as an Upper GI Surgeon and General Surgeon with subspecialty interests in Upper GIT benign and malignant disease, splenic disorders, laparoscopic adrenal surgery, biliary and hernia surgery. He has pioneered the laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy technique at Monash Medical Centre in 2001 and continues to be an active member of the renal transplant program.

He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Monash University and is involved in post-graduate training of residents and registrars.
